Methodology

Each province's composite score (0–10, higher = more risk) is a weighted blend of four components, each derived from the average negative-sentiment score of AI-analysed topics in that category over the trailing seven days:

35%
Security risk
Average negative sentiment across topics tagged security — armed conflict, crime, civil unrest.
30%
Political risk
Average negative sentiment across topics tagged political — governance, elections, institutions.
20%
Economic stress
Average negative sentiment across topics tagged economic — cost of living, employment, fuel, currency.
15%
Social tension
Average negative sentiment across topics tagged social — services, infrastructure, health, education.

Scores are recalculated and published every Monday at 08:00 Maputo time. Week-on-week change compares the new composite score to the previous week's.
